PFR Update

Turing Insight into Value

Published on Monday, January 09, 2017

Happy New Year from Beck’s Practical Farm Research (PFR)® team! With a new year underway, now is the time to evaluate your crop performance last year and consider new and innovative management strategies to adopt for the next growing season. I encourage you all to attend one of our 2017 PFR Insight Meetings to help you with this important process.

Formally known as Beck’s Winter Meetings, these events have always been a great opportunity to gain agronomic information on a regional level.  But this year we have something completely different in store!

This year’s PFR Insight Meetings are centered around our new PFR Proven™ concept.  We have initiated this idea to help you weed through the hundreds of studies, products and practices from multiple years of PFR research.

In order for a product to be considered PFR Proven, it had to provide positive yield gain and average positive return on investment (ROI) over a minimum of three years of PFR research. For a practice to be labeled as PFR Proven, it has to have been found to be the most profitable through PFR testing. This list of products and practices will constantly evolve as we find new things that are worth your time to try on your farm. Beck’s PFR Proven stamp will help you prioritize which products and practices can be further proven with site-specific, on-farm research.

Beck’s PFR Insight Meetings are structured in a way that will provide you with unique insight for your farming operation. In addition to discussing the PFR Proven practices and products, we will also cover regional updates and observations from your Missouri agronomy team. We look forward to meeting with you and helping you prepare to make 2017 a profitable season!
