300 Bushel Challenge

What does it take to raise 300 Bushel corn?

This was a question asked nearly 30 years ago by our farmer customers. Beck's responded by adding the 300 Bushel Attempt study. In 1994 Beck's broke the 300 bushel per acre attempt with Beck 5405 at 308.1 bushels/acre. In 2007, Beck 6733 (a non-traited version) broke the 300 bushel goal at 302.9 bushels/acre. In 2008, a new harvest record was set with Beck's 6733HXR™* weighing in at 332.4 bushels/acre. Now in 2009, Beck 6733HXR™ broke the 300 bushel goal at 320.7 bushels/acre.

The foundation for reaching high yields starts with the base genetics. Since we have proven that 300 bushels is possible, our question now is... "How can we consistently reach 300 bushels?" As a result, we developed the Beck 300 Challenge. The objective of the challenge is to challenge growers to break 300 bushels on their farm, partner with them to greatly improve yields, and create awareness that 300 bushels per acre is possible.

Eighty-four farmers have taken the challenge to reach for 300 bushel per acre on their farm.
